Welcome to the delightful World Peace Cafe, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Leicester at 17 Guildhall Lane. This café isn't just about food; it's an experience, set within the serene ambiance of a Buddhist Centre. When you step inside, you are greeted with warm smiles from attentive staff, all of whom are dedicated volunteers eager to ensure your visit is enjoyable.

World Peace Cafe offers an inviting atmosphere that promotes relaxation and mindfulness. The spacious layout provides a range of seating options, perfect for a casual coffee catch-up or a peaceful moment of solitude. It’s a place where the community comes together, reflecting the spirit of togetherness and kindness.

The menu is impressively diverse, offering something for everyone, including a children's menu featuring tasty options like beans on toast and cheese toasties, all priced reasonably. For adults, their Soup of the Day is a must-try, especially when paired with freshly grilled sandwiches or comforting sourdough bread. Each dish is prepared with care, ensuring a fresh and flavorful experience.

One of the highlights of the menu is the vibrant salad selection. Here, you can customize your plate with mixed lettuce leaves, grated carrots, cherry tomatoes, and a selection of delectable toppings like olives, avocado, and falafel. It’s a refreshing option that perfectly balances health and taste.

During my time at the café, I encountered a tapestry of customer experiences. From enjoying soothing hot chocolate and delectable chocolate muffins to savoring quality salads and jacket potatoes, each patron seems to leave with a smile. As local resident Beccy_m_xx noted, the café is not just affordable, but it's also a welcoming retreat. The positive feedback from regulars like Zerina and Tony Smith speaks volumes about the ambiance and quality.

For those looking for a unique dining experience, World Peace Cafe also hosts monthly meditation and meal sessions, creating a fusion of tranquility and culinary delight. Each month introduces a new theme, showcasing global flavors—my personal favorite was the Japanese meal. It’s a lovely way to unwind and connect with others while enjoying thoughtfully crafted dishes.

In conclusion, World Peace Cafe is more than just a place to eat; it embodies the principles of community and peace. Whether you're in for a light bite, a full meal, or a moment of quiet reflection, this café is undeniably worth a visit. Went to their once a month meditation and meal session on a Friday evening. A 30 minutes guided meditation session followed by a 3 course vegan meal on a different theme each month. We were lucky to attend when they were doing a Japanese meal. All really tasty.

Lovely filling food and the staff were friendly. It was clean and calming, no surprise in a Buddhist centre and great location opposite the cathedral.
